High Water (Acqua alta)


The phenomenon of 'acqua alta' (high water, or flooding) doesn't detract from the city's beauty ... it just makes navigating the narrow streets (calli) a bit more of a maritime enterprise.
Here, Dr. Buranello is waiting for the students to arrive in his fashionable Venetian fisherman boots.
